Have a great day out at the Moruya races
There’s a large group of horse trainers in the area surrounding Moruya, with upwards of 100 horses in training at any given time. With the number of racehorses who call the region home, it’s no wonder that the Moruya Jockey Club hosts multiple races each year, including the upcoming Narooma Cup and Moruya Cup. The course has a lovely grassed area for outdoor viewing, perfect for packing in a picnic to enjoy as you watch the races. Pick up your paddle for a kayaking adventure
For the avid kayakers among us, the Moruya River offers multiple avenues for exploring the region. You can follow the Moruya Kayaking Trail – East which is a 14 km round trip east along the river, launching from either the North Head campgrounds or the Moruya boat ramp. Then there is the Moruya Kayaking Trail – West a 12 km paddle entering the river at the Moruya boat ramp and taking you out towards Deau National Park. Spend a day at the beach in Moruya
Last, but certainly not least, take a day to explore the beautiful beaches just down the river from Moruya along the NSW South Coast. A day of sun, sand, and water is the perfect way to cap off your holiday. For a day of relaxation, you can lounge about sunbaking or take a stroll along the sand. Or, if you have some energy to burn, swimming, surfing, or snorkeling are just the ticket. Bengello Beach is on the north side of the river, not far from the Moruya North Head Campground, while Shelly Beach and South Head Beach are to the south of the Moruya River, near the Moruya Heads lookout in Eurobodalla National Park.
