Winter Night Market

Winter Night Market

Running every Wednesday night from the 1st June to the 31st August, the Winter Night Market is an after-dark experience that’s not to be missed. It brings together food traders, brewers, entertainers, and artisans for a night of winter themed fun. You’ll find open fires to keep warm, as well as a variety of entertaining performances and events, including a silent disco. Entry is free, so the only condition is that you come ready to eat and enjoy.

Winter Igloo Garden

This pop up experience is located in the Auburn hotel’s beer garden, with stunning views over the city below. You can dine in a private glass igloo located amongst hundreds of twinkling fairy lights. Whether bringing the kids along, or looking for a grown-ups night out, these igloos are guaranteed to astound. Each booking comes with a three course set menu, as well as a hearty winter cocktail on arrival.

Royal Botanic Gardens

An immersive, after dark event, Lightscape is set to take over the Royal Botanic Gardens this winter. Visitors will enjoy an illuminated walk through the garden, featuring thousands of tiny lights and a range of installations, including glowing tunnels and light-up canopies. You’ll get lost in this colourful natural wonderland while you explore playful beams of light that you won’t want to miss.

Collingwood Children’s Farm

Winter Solstice Bonfire

Run by Collingwood Children’s farm, the immensely popular Winter Solstice Bonfire is back on the 25th June. Experience the lighting of a massive bonfire while surrounded by live music, fire lanterns, face painting, and storytelling. Children will be delighted with so many things to see and do, and with a variety of delicious street food on offer, adults will be able to sit back and relax while they explore the farm. It truly is fun for all ages.

Mulled Wine

This winter, ReWine’s famous mulled wine is back in all stores. Sold in various markets across Melbourne, visitors can also head down to one of their main locations for a taste of this warm and soulful drink. ReWine sells their wine straight from the barrel into specially made bottles, which can then be brought back and refilled in store, for a more sustainable experience. All wines can be tasted for free, or enjoyed with a delicious slice of pizza to chase the cold away.

For those wanting an evening with a difference, IceBar is the perfect place for you. Their sub zero bar is not for the faint hearted, and all visitors are provided with snow capes and gloves on arrival to help them keep warm. Once inside, you can check out their hand carved ice sculptures, take some photos beside the icy walls, and enjoy a chilly drink. Standard entry includes one icy cocktail, and the 45 minute session time is designed to make sure you stay comfortable in the freezing temperatures.

Mork hot chocolate

Mork created their first hot chocolate blend in 2012, and have been crafting perfect drinks ever since. The Mork chocolate brew house is dedicated entirely to specialty chocolate. Guests can sit back and relax with a hot drink, and choose from an array of cakes and cinnamon buns, baked fresh on site every day. Mork specialises in hot chocolate, meaning every drink served at the brew house includes a delicious chocolate element. One of their most popular options is the campfire hot chocolate, served in a cloud of dramatic maple smoke, and including charcoal salt and a sticky toasted marshmallow. Need we say more?
